I have made a few raw foods that I find I really like so I thought I'd share them here. I got one of the receipes from http://rawlivingfoods.typepad.com/ . I really like the raw brownies-YUM!! The raw veggie burgers are good, but I have discovered after various attempts with other receipes that I don't like garlic in dehydrated goods. It is just too strong for me (but I have always loved garlic cooked-lots of it!!!!), and doesn't taste the same as cooked-well duh!!! :) Anyways, I might attempt one more time with just a tiny piece of garlic. We'll see. I found that a burger topped with a sliced tomato will minimize the strong garlic flavor.
For the veggie burger I liked go to the above website and go to recipes-entrees on the left side of the page. I used pulp from nut mylk (Yeah, now I have something to do with the nut pulp) and carrots. I can't remember where I got the raw brownie recipe from but it is very simple: 1 C date paste
1 1/4 C raw almond butter
1 1/4 C raw carob powder
(I used 1/2 C raw cacao powder and 3/4 C carob powder)
1/3 C raw honey
stir up and press into glass pan and keep in freezer- YUM!!!!!!!Happy uncooking :) !!!!!!!
On 6.30.07 I ate:
1:45 am-3 handfuls of pretzel sticks w/ sour cream ?? :(
went to bed.......................
1c coffee w/ van creamer
1 banana*
2 pieces raw brownie*
16.9 oz water
1/4 can refried beans w/ salsa* and 1/2 avocado*
2 raw brownies*
16.9 oz water
16.9 oz water
1 raw brownie*
12:15am-7.1.07-approx 30 something wheat thin crackers
OK, I was addicted to raw brownies today-good, but can't be a food staple every day :). I also think I need to make some raw crackers, since that appears to be my "craving" each night.
Peace to all.......be thankful for Freedom!!!.....................................

hi cindy!!!!! cool blog! makes me jealous that i don't have a dehydrator... :P -sam
Raw crackers are very good and satisfy my taste buds, especailly dehydrated flax seed crackers. E-mail me at macdonald7@juno.com if you would like a great recipe. It's from "Everyday Wholesome Eating in the Raw" by Kim Wilson. I have been on a gluten-free/raw foods diet for a few months and feel better. I do, however, still eat cooked meats. I came across your site when looking for raw brownies!
Wow, I'm a new raw food enthusiast and I must give you crazy kudos. The raw brownies are my new favourite treat! They were so fast and easy to make and satisfying. I'm not sure how healthy they are, but in moderation they're super!
THANKS! -Tara :D
