failing and guidance....make your choice

It's Sunday and I didn't write yesterday so I'll fill in for both days. Yesterday I layed down about 9pm with a stomach ache and wanted to eat ice cream, but never did since I didn't feel good enough to get up. Hmmmm, I need to get out of the kitchen early. It may help keep me from binging. Evenings are my worse. It's no different than my past. Others addictions (ie. drugs and alcohol) were the same way. I start out great with good intentions in the morning and find excuses and lies to allow myself to believe to indulge in my addiction of choice. Come on Cindy, grow up!!!! Get real, get a grip. Today, I had to go to a meeting and thought, "Oh, there will need to be a treat, I'll bring brownies w/ cream cheese frosting." Hmmm, sound familiar? Cream cheese frosting...read a few blogs back. Even days later I allow it to take control. No respect for myself...no self control...finding excuses. How have others done it? I want to learn about others who have dealt with the mental battle, the turmoil, the battle of the mind. Well, here are some references I know and will share... if I choose to assess them, they can actually help me: Joyce Meyers' book "The Battlefield of the Mind"; scripture references I found tucked in my bible tonight at church-1. Keep your mind active (Prov. 19:15; 27:7) 2. Don't eat to stuff yourself (Prov. 13:25) 3. Watch your intake of sweets and meats (Prov 23:3,20) 4. When you eat, do it to glorify God (1 Cor 10:31) 5. Take your bad eating habits to the cross and rekon them dead (Prov. 23:2) 6. Pray in the spirit for 10 minutes before you sit down to eat (Rom. 8:26,27) 7. Speak right words about your food before you eat (Prov. 18:20) 8. Don't eat when you are depressed (Prov. 15:15) 9. Pray God's Word over your food (1 Tim 4:4,5; Deut. 7:13-15).
